ケネウィックマン遠征の全軌跡 Whole track of Kennewick-Man Expedition
ケネウィックマン遠征の、全行程の軌跡が表示できるようになりました。2012 The Kennewick-Man Expedition から見ることができます。

少々ややこしいのですが、Google Mapの仕様から軌跡が幾つかに分断されていて、下図の矢印で示す記号をクリックしないと次の軌跡が表示されません。いずれ、一度で表示されるように工夫します。
Sorry for some confusing operation of the map, since the GPS track is divided into some fragments according to a Google Map specification, you should click a button indicated by a red arrow in the following figure for to see a next track. In the near future, I am going to make a something for to see those as one large track.
見どころはそのジグザグな軌跡。場所や時間によりころころと気まぐれに、急激に、そして複雑に変化する風や、波や、水の流れに翻弄されながらも、右に左に進路を変え前進し後退しながら、前へ前へ進もうとする様子を窺い知ることができます。
One of the main attractions is a zigzag movement of the GPS track. You can get an idea of some situation that, even though wind, wave and water stream, which were quickly, fitfully and complicatedly varying as time and place were changing, tossed about my kayak, I tried to get advance as changing a course for left or light and going ahead or backward.

カヌーの旅から学んだこと。政治は、政治家の特殊な職業、ではない。国民が参加するものだ。
福島原発事故から学んだこと。黙認は容認だ。原発を容認してきた我々一人一人の問題でもある。
だから、発言しよう。
戦争は、犯罪である。
人類が学んだことだ。
原子力を扱うには、科学技術はまだまだ未熟だ。
人類が学んだことだ。
新しい発想で新しい社会を作っていかなければならない時に、昔と変わらぬことをやり、昔に戻ろうとすらする動きに、僕は大いに反対だ。

In the Early Morning, 1 Minute past Seven

無風、無音。
鏡のように滑らかな藍色の海面が、朝焼けのうすい紅色で染まった空を写す。
動くものといえば、僕と、カヌーが切る波紋と、イルカの滑らかな曲線。
I have changed a top picture of this blog. This picture was taken at the place indicating at green arrow in the following map, on the ocean in Washington state, USA.
In the early morning, 1 minute past seven.
No wind, no sound.
The indigo blue ocean as smooth as unbroken mirror reflected the pale pink sky at morning dawn.
Me, a ripple of kayak and a elegant back of dolphin were only moving things.

This movie was taken on the Columbia River on 2nd May 2012, for The Kennewick-Man Expedition. A whole route map of this day can see in the map below.
It was a strong wind along the river from downstream as west. As a zigzag track in the map below, sailing downstream against powerful head wind was very difficult, and I could only just move back and forth in the width direction of river, could not move downstream, for some time after start. I was almost given up kayaking in this day twice.
強い川下からの風が、川に沿って吹き荒れていました。その強烈な向かい風に逆らって下流に帆走することはとても難しく、地図上のジグザグした軌跡から見て取れるように、出発後しばらくは川を下ることができずに川幅方向を行ったり来たりするのが精一杯でした。二度、この日川を下ることを諦めかけました。
