金峰山と樹氷 | Mount Kinpu Covered with Ice Trees

 二日間の低気圧が抜けた翌日2023年11月15日の9時から、日本百名山の一つでもあり山梨県と長野県をまたがる金峰山を、大弛峠から登りました。前日までの二日間に風で枝に叩きつけられた雪がシャープなブレードを形作っており、雪の芸術が紺碧の雲ひとつない嵐の後の空に、コントラスト強く浮き出ています。歩きを止めて見惚れるしかない美しさ。まだ朝方なので、氷の鋭いエッジはまだ太陽の熱で溶けていません。空気中の水分がなく、遠く富士山や北アルプス、南アルプスまで見透せる蒼い雲一つない大気も、嵐の後の朝という限られた時間にのみ許されるものです。まさに山の芸術を眺めるにはベストな時間に登ることが出来ました。

On the morning of November 15, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., I ascended Mount Kimpu, which is one of the 100 fantastic mountains in Japan, from Ôtarumi Pass after two days of low-pressure weather had passed. The snow, which had been pounded onto branches by the strong wind during the previous two days, formed sharp ice blades. Against the backdrop of a storm-free azure sky with no clouds, the snow’s artistry stands out in stark contrast. It’s a beauty that compels one to stop and gaze. Since it’s still early morning, the ice’s keen edges have not yet melted from the sun’s heat. The air is devoid of moisture, and the clear atmosphere allows visibility all the way to Mount Fuji, the Northern Alps, and the Southern Alps. Such pristine conditions are only permitted during the limited time after a storm—a perfect moment to behold the artistry of the mountains.
