雪深い季節に北から追い付かれました。ここ船岡城で、北海道・青森・岩手・宮城・
徒歩縦走１５００キロとして終えます。ケネウィックマンの足跡をたどる旅の一区間
でした。

The season of heavy snow has caught up me from the north. At here Funaoka
castle, I will finish this Hokkaido Aomori Iwate Miyagi 1500 km hike. This
is a part of the journey of following Kennewick-man's footprint.

船岡城址公園にテントを張った。小山の上にあり、町が見下ろせる。昔の殿様は、こ
んな吹きっさらしの山の上に大きな城を建てて、冬の暖はどうやって取ったのだろう
かと考えてしまった。

I have pitched my tent in the park where temporary housings for sufferers
from Tohoku earthquake have been built. Still people live in there.

仮設住宅が建てられている公園にテントを張る。夜６時だが、明かりが点いている部
屋は１割程度か。頑張っている人達の隣で寝させてもらう。逆に元気を貰うようだ。

松島に辿り着く。

歩いて旅をして、やっと辿り着いた松島の、あまりの美しさに言葉をなくした歌人達
の、心境がよく分かる。余計な言葉は使わずに出来事をそのまま書けば、松島の景観

野球場のある公園で野営。

白鳥の飛んでいる姿は空力的にも非常に美しく、見とれてしまう。あの足をどのよう
に羽毛の中に納めているのだろうか、水掻きだけ外から見えて流線型の体と完全に一
体となっている。羽の先三分の一だけ動かして飛ぶのもいい。白鳥型の航空機を作っ
たら、さぞカッコいいだろうに。

公園にテントをはっていたら、小学四年生の男の子たちがわいのわいのと集まってき
た。とくにコタロウとなかよくなり、カッコいいともだちができた。

曹洞宗双林寺の裏手にある、街が見下ろせる高台の公園にテントを張る。

この旅で七度目となる雪が降ってきた。同じ氷点下とはいえ、雪が降っている方が暖
かくて楽である。しかし積もっては困るのであるが。

今日は二羽の白鳥が飛んでいるのを見た。北上川を越えて宮城県にまで飛来するのだ
ね。
